Our Why
“When I became a mom, I was prepared for the middle of the night wake-ups, the dozens of diaper changes, the tracking everything to understand wake windows, feeding times, and more. But the thing I wasn’t prepared for, the thing no one talks about, was the loneliness. I loved my daughter and being a mom more than I could put into words, but the days were draining, the nights were a sleepless battle, and suddenly I was in this brand-new world with very little support. Every answer seemed to require a deep dive on the internet, and I was left trying to figure out not just how to care for a baby, but how to care for myself in the middle of it all.
Then everything changed when I met another mom going through the same experience as me. We shared the same highs and lows, the exhaustion and the precious moments, and for the first time I felt seen, heard, and supported. She was my north star in the middle of the hard nights keeping me sane and comforted, and I too did the same for her. It was meeting that one mama friend that changed my whole experience of motherhood- there was now joy, laughter, love, and nonjudgemental understanding- which was so important while I was learning how to become a mom. I wouldn’t have survived one of the darkest and brightest seasons of my life without her. From there came more mom-friends, more laughter, and more times where motherhood felt empowering rather than isolating. That’s when I realized: a mom community isn’t just nice to have — it’s essential.
Moms Who Gather was born out of that realization. Because motherhood shouldn’t be something we do in silence, behind closed doors, carrying the weight alone. We need each other. We need spaces that lift us up, give us practical support, sprinkle sunshine into the mundane, and remind us that we’re more than a mother- we’re women with dreams, ambitions & identities who need support during hard times and who deserve to be celebrated.
And while not every mom has the same resources or support system, every mom deserves to know that they matter. At the end of the day, we all just want to be the best version of ourselves for our children, and with the right support, motherhood can be not only enjoyable — but truly magical.”
